We would like everyone to know whats coming for 2008 in Beanaroya Hall. January 5th, Leroy Bell and his only friends. January 12th, Singer, songwriter Alice Stuart. February 9th. Lost Vuarnets. And April 26th. Roy Rogers and the Delta Rhythm Kings. Tickets are limited and are going fast. We are working on bringing Blues legend Bobby Rush to the Northwest for a show or two. I have attended several music performances at Mukilteo Coffee, including Danny O\’Keefe (wrote Good Time Charly\’s Got The Blues), Country Joe McDonald, Lost Vaurnets, Alice Stuart and South Whidbey\’s own Western Heroes (fronted by David LiCastro, who also happens to be my bass teacher!).
While the performances are terrific, the venue is what completes the experience. A stage is set up in the roasting facility amidst bags of coffee. It\’s a warehouse-like building in the middle of the woods. The whole experience is evocative of blues juke joints in the south.
